The 化学 oceanography concentration in the 海洋 & 地球科学B.S. degree is designed for students considering employment or graduate work in the field of 化学 oceanography. Chemical oceanography is the study of the behavior of the 化学 elements in the 海洋 and marine sediments and how they are affected by physical, 化学, 生物, 以及地质过程. Students in the 化学 oceanography concentration are strongly encouraged to minor in chemistry by taking the appropriate 300- and 400-level classes in the chemistry department.
